QSL Bureau registration

The VK3 Inwards QSL Bureau is operated as a free service to members of Amateur Radio Victoria and/or members of Wireless Institute of Australia.

Conditions

• Cards will be mailed or delivered to distribution points at the end of each quarter at no charge. Any distribution point may, having made suitable arrangement with the Bureau management, arrange to collect cards at more frequent intervals.
• VK3 QSL distribution points are required to handle cards for radio amateurs registered with the Bureau (WIA and/or ARV members), even if those amateurs are not necessarily members of the club.
• Direct mailing to individuals is not conducted by the Bureau. Some distribution points may make a mailing service available to those who reside in remote areas or are unable to collect cards because of a disability. A suitable arrangement will need to be made with the distribution point to cover any mailing cost involved. Check with your distribution point.
• The number of cards processed by the Bureau each month makes it impracticable for all cards to be individually scrutinized for the date on which the contact was made. Due to the practice of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to immediately re-issue callsigns it is possible for more than one licensee to use the same callsign on air during a year.

• A callsign can only be registered with the Bureau under one holder. If a second person seeks to register the callsign, both the currently registered and subsequent person seeking registration will be advised that the registration is in dispute. No cards under that callsign will be processed until the dispute is settled. Persons seeking to register the same callsign will have to decide who should hold the registration. Normally by mutual arrangement the agreed registration holder will pass on cards received in respect of contacts made by the other party.
• Incoming cards for radio amateurs not registered with the Bureau will be held for collection for a period of 180 days, after which time they will no longer be available.
• Once registered, you should advise the Bureau via email, of a change of callsign or if you wish to change your collection point.
• If your membership of Amateur Radio Victoria (ARV) or Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) expires your callsign will be removed from the Bureau after a period of two months.
