Mt Willian site damaged by fire

Mt William repeater site

There is currently an ongoing fire situation in the Grampians National Park and the Mt William repeater site has suffered significant damage.

Powercor advise it will be take some weeks before power is restored to the site.

The LDF450 feeders have heat blisters along the outer covering. Feeders will need to be replaced and the condition of antennas need to be determined and the tower will need to be inspected for structural integrity.

When power is restored, the repeaters and links MAY become operational again but in a limited capacity until feeders and antennas are replaced.

While every endeavor will be made to get it running as soon as possible members should be aware that we have limited access at the moment and need to liaise with the site owners.
